Coworker and I are in the car, talking about post-camp plans. I outline the whole big trip - across the country and back in six weeks by car, plane and train. She asks if I'm paying for it with money I saved up in college.
No. I'm paying for the trip with the money I've earned from camp, along with money that was a graduation gift from my parents - money that was left over from paying four years of tuition.
But I can't bring myself to say that out loud. So instead, I change the subject.
