Phone message: thick Italian accent "Um, hello, this is Alexander's father. We just wanted to tell you that Alexander called us to say he is out of money, so we put a few thousand dollars on his card so he can continue to shop as much as he likes. Please let us know if he runs out again, thank you."
Overheard in the hallway: "You see, for us Europeans to come here, it is so cheap - it is like if you Americans went to somewhere like Poland and tried to spend all your money, you would buy out the whole country before you ran out of dollars!"
From a conversation with a co-worker: "My kid, he tried to borrow $100 from me to buy an ipod! When I asked what happened to the $100 he showed me earlier, he said he spent it all at the arcade!"
